Frequently Asked Questions
General
Concierge primary care is primarily a self-pay, membership-based primary care model that allows you 24/7 access to a provider and same or next-day appointments with occasional insurance coverage. Most of our additional services and costs will be available to you through wholesale pricing.
Although we do not accept all insurance carriers, we are happy to provide you with a "superbill" to submit a claim through your PPO plan as an out-of-network provider. You can also use your FSA/HSA to cover some of the membership fees and healthcare costs. We are in the process of working with some insurance companies to offer some insurance coverage through HMO plans, but it is not currently in effect (Blue Cross Blue Shield). You can be a part of our full self-pay model.
Traditional primary care does not require a membership fee, but only allows you to go to in-network providers. You may also incur hidden fees, co-pays, and long wait times to be seen by a provider. They are also not available on demand nor allow for a personalized approach. Their patient panels are often large, ranging between 2000 and 5000 patients per provider, with a limited length of time they can spend with you.
Although we do not allow our services to be submitted through Medicare or Medicaid at this time, you can submit a claim under any other supplemental insurance plan if you'd like to still be a member.
No, we do not accept any insurance, but we are working towards accept some insurance carriers (Blue Cross Blue Shield). We are also happy to provide "superbills" for any other insurance carriers through your PPO plan. Since January 1, 2026, the current administration also allows you to reimburse for membership fees up to $150.00/individual and $300.00/couples and family through your HSA/FSA plan.
If you have a HMO plan, you cannot submit for medical reimbursement since you need to be with in-network providers. We will discuss which insurance carriers we work with. However, if your insurance plan is a PPO plan, we are happy to provide you with a "superbill" to submit to your insurance company as an out-of-network provider. Please note we are not responsible for any services provided that are not covered by your insurance plan.
We offer a firm, 1-year commitment to join our team with auto-renewal, unless you cancel it anytime before the last 30 days of the contract period. If you are unhappy with the services you receive from our team, we will try to make every effort to work with you to resolve the issue. If payments become an issue, we reserve the right to change your status to become a "non-active member," and you won't be able to receive any primary care services until the balance is paid, yet your monthly balance will continue to accrue throughout the remainder of the year. If the balance is left unpaid or there is no response from you by the end of the contract, you will be terminated from Northeast Primary Care.
We accept all major debit and credit cards, FSA/HSA cards, or ACH bank transfers.
Although we do not provide prescriptions for chronic daily benzodiazepines (Ativan, Xanax), methadone, buprenorphine, or opioids (Oxycodone), we are happy to refer you to other providers to help manage those medications while we care for your primary care needs.
We are happy to prescribe stimulant medications contingent on you having a prior psychiatric or medical evaluation that supports the use of stimulant medication (e.g., narcolepsy, ADHD, etc.). Otherwise, we cannot directly prescribe you stimulants based on your symptom presentation.
We can do most laboratory and imaging services by sending you an order through our electronic health record, but we do not have any laboratory or imaging services on site at this time. We are happy to send you an order form for you to receive labs (Quest) or imaging services at a location convenient to you. If desired, we can draw labs directly from your home and deliver them to Quest on your behalf (lab order depending).
Lab and diagnostic fees are not included as part of the membership, but we are happy to have you either bill your insurance for them or provide you with Quest's self-pay option so you can select the tests you're willing to pay for with competitive pricing.
Although we do not directly manage opioid use disorder, alcohol use disorder, some gender-based care, or serious mental health disorders, we are happy to refer you to specialists who received specialized training in these specific areas who can help you towards your wellness goals; all while you obtain primary care services from our team. You deserve to be cared for by experts in these areas and are happy to provide referrals.
To maintain a healthy work-life balance, only urgent or emergent needs will be managed overnight, weekends, holidays, or after hours (6pm-7am) via Telehealth only. All non-urgent communications will be triaged and attended to on the next business day.
We are currently building the primary care practice and are waiting to select office space convenient for the majority of our patients. We plan to centralize care around the Worcester/Middlesex area and will notify you of the office location once it becomes available. If our office location does not work for you, you can continue to receive home or Telehealth visits.
Yes! Our primary care service is dedicated to home visits for either wellness or sick visits. If you would like to know if your address is within range, please feel free to contact us.
With the growing trend of weight management drugs on the market, we are happy to prescribe them to you. Before starting GLP-1 medication (Ozempic, Mounjaro), we will first discuss the risks, benefits, and candidate requirements before working with you, especially if you want to use your insurance to pay for them. If GLP-1 medications are something you want from Northeast Primary Care before enrolling, we can discuss it during your intake appointment.
